The woman whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase and tossed in an Los Angeles trash bin has been identified as 28-year-old former swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore who disappeared over the weekend.
Police said Tuesday that Fiore had been strangled.
Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a contestant on a reality TV show and a Canadian national who was last seen last week with Fiore at her LA home, has been deemed a ‘person of interest’ by police.

The body of swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore (l.) was found in a suitcase in a LA dumpster. Ryan Alexander Jenkins (r.) has been called a 'person of interest.'
Jenkins reported Fiore missing Saturday night after he reportedly took her to a poker party in San Diego the night before. Fiore’s body was discovered Saturday in a suitcase in a Los Angeles dumpster, according to the LA Times.
Fiore had recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas and had appeared in an ad for Howard Stern‘s radio show.
Police are still trying to determine the relationship between Fiore and Jenkins. The two are married, according to a report on TMZ.com, but Fiore’s mom Lisa Lapore told the LA Times that she does not think the marriage was legitimate.
Jenkins is one of the final contestants on ”Megan Wants a Millionaire,” a VH1 reality show that tries to match a bachelorette with a wealthy single man. The show is still airing and it is possible the Jenkins actually won, according to TMZ.
Los Angeles police investigators realized Monday evening that the description of the body found Saturday morning in Buena Park matched the description of Fiore given by her mother.
