COCAINE & VODKA EASILY FOUND ONLINE. WTF?

Limited-Edition Lifestyle Brand Launches Brand Promoting Artists and DJs

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 1, 2009) – limited-edition lifestyle brand, Cocaine & Vodka,
launches a brand to sell emerging artist’s apparel and merchandise. But like the unconventional
name, the company has an unconventional pitch – partnering with artists to create unique items
that will only be available in first-edition production runs. They are sold until they sell out. In
addition to the limited-edition items, www.cocaineandvodka.com features traditional artwork by
past and present artists and downloadable mixes from local DJs. The brand is a celebration of
creativity, music and life.

“We started this as a way to promote emerging artists and the DJ community, but from the
responses we’re getting, it’s got a broad following,” said Cocaine & Vodka President, David
Becker. “With the collaborative nature of the brand, we get to offer all sorts of items. This first
season with artist and musician Nik Piscitello is no exception.”

The Cocaine & Vodka business model isn’t typical. The company only produces a single unique
item (sometimes male and female versions, but nothing more) with a partner artist. The artist and
company collaborate to determine what it is they want to make. It’s a process that can result in any
number of items, each unique to the individual artist and the collaboration with Cocaine & Vodka.
Seeing that the company set out to promote emerging artists, each artist gets a percentage of profits
from the sale of their respective limited-edition goods. In addition, the company sells traditional
artwork by the artist through its website. It’s all about getting the artist as much promotion and
exposure as possible.

The company’s mantra sums up the brand in a poetic fashion…
“We are champions of spirit. Those that give a fuck without giving a fuck. We work hard, play
hard, and live to the ends of our means. If you must judge, fine. Just know we don’t have the
patience or the will to reason with you. You are already lost. This is us. It’s not about rebelling, it’s
about being true to ourselves. We each embody a certain uniqueness and this is what we celebrate.
Be yourself. Complete and perfect in our imperfections. Don’t be afraid to say what you feel and
do what you like. Let’s dismantle this hypocrisy machine and bring it to its knees. Living and
loving the entire time to the rhythm of a 4/4 beat.”

Season 1 featured artist – Nik Piscitello, Artist and Musician

The company met its first artist on a motorcycle in South LA County. A random meeting let to the
first collaboration with Nik Piscitello. Nik has worked in the interactive design world for more
than five years. He’s played guitar since a wee-little buddy and currently plays with The Last of
the Believers. To get the basics out of the way, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Graphic Design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and currently holds the position of
Sr. Interactive Design/Art Director with 42 Entertainment. His work has won Clios, Cannes Lions,
W3 and Webby awards along the way.

About Cocaine & Vodka, Inc.

Cocaine & Vodka is a limited-edition lifestyle brand. What we do and what we make depends on
who we are working with, and what we decide to make. Each season we partner with an artist and
create a unique item with that artist – selling them until they are gone. One item, once a season,
that’s it. Sometimes the item is a shirt, another season may see some sort of leather good. It all
comes down to the collaboration with the artist. It should also be noted that every Cocaine &
Vodka item is limited-edition, chronologically numbered and handmade in the U.S. For more
information please check out www.cocaineandvodka.com.
